Low temperature synthesis and antibacterial activity of hybrid systems of gentamicine sulphate with copper and iron nanoparticles

Abstract

Cryochemical modification methods were used to obtain hybrid composites of the antibacterial drug gentamicin sulfate and copper and iron nanoparticles, which are promising precursors of targeted delivery systems. The resulting systems are antibiotic nanoparticles with a size of 50–300 nm, including copper and iron nanoparticles with a size of 1–20 nm (according to the results of physicochemical analysis by IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, dynamic light scattering, scanning and transmission microscopy). The obtained composites showed higher antibacterial activity against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, B. cereus compared to the individual components.
