Development of methods for identification and quantitative determination of hydroxy acids in the fruits of Vaccinium Oxycoccus L. and Vaccinium Macrocarpon Ait

Abstract

Using TLC and HPLC analysis, the presence of hydroxycoric acids in the fruits of common cranberries (Vaccinium Oxycoccos L.) and large-fruited cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon Ait.), the predominant of which is chlorogenic acid. Quantitative determination of hydroxycinnamic acids in terms of chlorogenic acid was performed by the method of spectrophotometric analysis.
Key words: common cranberry, large-fruited cranberry, hydroxy acids, TLC, HPLC, spectrophotometry.
