Antibacterial and Catalytic Properties of Stable Metal Nanoparticles in Reverse
Micelles
Abstract
Ag and Cu nanoparticles stable in the presence of air
were obtained by the reduction of metal iones with biological active compound
(quercetin) from the group of flavonoids in reverse micelles in the system
water/AOT/alkane. Nanoparticle formation was detected by the characteristic
changes of optical absorption spectra of quercetin/AOT/alkane solution after
addition of AgNO3or Cu(NH3)4SO4. The
features of nanoparticle adsorption on solid supports were described.
Biological activity of materials modified by Ag nanoparticules and catalytic
properties of Cu nanoparticles in reactions of halogen hydrocarbons were
studied.
