Non-adsorbable component influence on the
dynamics of water sorption on the composite adsorbent
Abstract
The analysis of the
experimental data on water adsorption in the presence of a non-adsorbable
component on the composite adsorbent “silica gel impregnated with calcium
chloride” for different partial pressures of water and air was performed. It
was established that the mass-transfer mechanism inside a grain is Knudsen
diffusion; it was shown that in the system there is formed a dynamic structure
with the increased concentration of non-adsorbable component close to the
external surface of grain, causing externally diffusive resistance; the
coefficient of heat exchange between grain and gas phase was defined.
