TUBB3 expression in non-small cell lung cancer: the reason for immunohistochemical assay discordance and the way to overcome it

Abstract

Abstract. Discordant data on TUBB3 microtubule protein contribution to antitumor drug resistance and tumor metastatic potential as well as TUBB3 expression prognostic value in non-small cell lung cancer, have been analyzed. The need of quantitative assessment methods, in particular, immunofluorescence assay associated with flow cytometry, as a component of molecular diagnostics, is substantiated.
Key words: TUBB3, non-small cell lung cancer, immunofluorescence analysis, flow cytometry, immunohistochemical analysis
