of the Co Atoms in Bulky and Deposited Lanthanum Cobaltates
Abstract
Valence and coordination
state of paramegnetic Co (II) atoms
in bulk lanthanum cobaltate LaCoO3 with
perovskite-like structure and cobalt
oxide Co3O4 as well as LaCoO3
nanostructured inside the MCM-41 mesoporous molecular sieve matrix was
investigated by ESR technique. Cobalt Co (II)
cations in both bulk and nanosized cobaltate phases were found to be in
octahedral coordination with oxygen which is characteristic of perovskite-like
structures.
