Adsorption of synthetic dyes under
capillary zone electrophoresis
Abstract
The migration and concomitant adsorption of
food synthetic anionic dyes: Yellow “sunset” (E110) and Green strong FCF (E143)
in a quartz capillary was studied by capillary zone electrophoresis. The adsorption of dyes was evaluated from the dependence of
electrophoretic mobility (μef) on sample concentration. It was found that
for the dye E143, the maximum value of electrophoretic mobility is achieved at
low concentrations and lower values in comparison with the dye E110, due to the
larger size and higher hydrophilicity of the E143 molecule. The dependences of
electrophoretic mobility μefon sample concentration of Green strong FCF are compared with its
adsorption isotherm on Sikhrom S-80. Maximum adsorption value of 6.10–4μM of E143 dye per m2 was obtained.
