About the “case” of professor N. D. Zelinsky: Does singing
interfere with the efficiency of laboratory work?
Abstract
Abstract. New archival documents concerning the activities of prof. N.D. Zelinsky
in Moscow University in 1900–1901 are presented and analyzed. Correspondence of
the professor with the rector of the university and the minister of public
education dealt with the question of reprehensibility of singing in a chemical
laboratory.
