Determination of synthetic food dyes in carbonated
beverages by digital image colorimetry
Abstract
Abstract. A simple and cheap method
for the simultaneous determination of two dyes by digital image colorimetry
using a smartphone photo camera was developed. A prototype of a specialized box
that allows reducing the contribution of scattered radiation to the measured
signal to the noise level of a digital image sensor was created. The proposed
approach was verified by the determination of synthetic food dyes in carbonated
beverages. The accuracy of the results of the determination of dyes in
beverages by digital image colorimetry and spectrophotometry differs slightly.
